Together, We Can Change Lives in Oxfordshire
Even one person at risk is too many.
With your support, we can turn the tide, helping local people not only escape crisis but also truly thrive in their homes, workplaces, and communities.
Together, we can ensure no one is left behind and everyone has the chance to reach their full potential.
Desperate Circumstances
This is not just a handful of cases; the need is urgent and growing:
- In 2024/25, 494 households in Oxford were placed in temporary accommodation/25, up 126% increase from just two years ago, with many forced to relocate outside the county due to a lack of local accommodation.
- Life expectancy for street homeless people is still 30 years shorter than the average UK adult; many die between ages 43 and 47.
- In Oxford City, approximately 3,100 people aged 16 and above are unemployed, accounting for 3.4% of the economically active population. Oxfordshire’s rate is lower than the national rate. Still, young adults and those furthest from the labour market face significant obstacles, and the divide is deeper than in almost any other part of the country.
- Women face a hidden crisis: up to 10 times more women sleep rough than official government counts suggest, with many avoiding visibility due to risk of violence and abuse.
- Demand for Aspire Oxfordshire’s services continues to surge, with over 2,000 people supported last year and 350 tenancies kept stable – often preventing repeat homelessness and unlocking skills, education, and work.
- 46 people were confirmed to be sleeping rough on a ‘typical’ night in Oxfordshire in March 2025. Over the year, up to 700 different people sleep rough in Oxfordshire; the actual figure, especially for women, may be even higher due to hidden homelessness.
